Aside from the Nokia 8.1 Plus, HMD Global has the Nokia 9 PureView as part of its 2019 phone lineup. The device has been anticipated since 2017 but it’s only this year it will finally become a reality. We have no idea what happened really but we know the 2017 concept will be improved already. The final and official Nokia 9 will have the PureView suffix and we’re expecting it will be announced soon. By soon we meant the next biggest event which is the Mobile World Congress. The MWC 2019 in Barcelona will be the launching pad of many big names including Samsung, LG, and Huawei.
The phone hit the FCC in 2017. We said it might not come with a headphone jack as USB-C port will handle audio. What we thought would have dual rear cams before are expected to have a Penta lens five-camera design as demoed in a video.
This Nokia 9 PureView will be the brand’s newest flagship. We’ve seen a number of leaked images and renders already but allow us to update you with what we know.
The Nokia 9 PureView may be unveiled on January 27. If not January, then next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019). That’s in less than a couple of weeks. We’ve already seen the 5K images and 360-degree video. A prototype was also sighted.
The phone may come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and Snapdragon 845 chipset. The official launch may also happen first in Dubai this January with an Indian launch next month but Europe may receive the phone first.
When it comes to imaging, the Nokia 9 will have five rear cameras powered by ZEISS. Included are a wide-angle lens, depth-sensing camera, and telephoto lens. Other specs include a 5.9-inch QHD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, max of 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 4150mAh battery, water-and-dust-resistant rating, and Android 9 Pie (Android One).
